Ask the Furnace and Duct Cleaning Expert – Clint Orr
If you haven’t been able to get your furnace and duct work cleaned yet, it’s never too late! If the seasons just keep getting away on you or you’re still amidst renovations, your duct cleaning can be done at any time of the year.
A common misconception in Saskatchewan is that when the thermometer hits a frigid -20 to -40°C, furnace and duct cleaning is no longer possible. It’s simply about having the right tools for the job.
Full Throttle Furnace & Duct Cleaning Inc. possesses the knowledge and the latest portable duct cleaning equipment available which allows them to perform furnace and duct cleaning even on the coldest of winter days.
The process is simple. Full Throttle brings its portable vacuum system equipped with 2” HEPA filter right into your mechanical room and can effectively capture the dust and debris right in your home!
The only thing running through your door is a small ¾ inch hose. In homes with an attached garage, the technicians can run that ¾ inch hose right from their vans through your garage door and then close the garage door. Technicians can work for two to four hours with the furnace off and only lose one or two degrees of heat. Full Throttle puts its experience and industry leading equipment to the test on the coldest winter days to ensure the job is done right the first time.
Full Throttle Furnace & Duct Cleaning Inc. also cleans air to air exchangers (filters, cabinet and associated ductwork), central vacuum systems (canisters and outlets) and dryer vents. Preventative maintenance to these systems also increases the longevity. Dirty systems need to work harder which increases the wear and tear and decreases efficiency.
Here are some tips for avoiding scams if you decide to look into having the ducts and HVAC system in your home cleaned:
- Complete service: Don’t settle for just duct cleaning, make sure the company has the training and knowledge to pull and clean the blower inside the furnace and clean the air conditioning coil that’s located inside the furnace. Our service takes on average a minimum of two hours to complete. If a duct cleaner is in and out of your house in less time than that – chances are your ductwork has not been thoroughly clean. We pride ourselves on the quality of our jobs– not the quantity we can complete.
- Avoid gimmicks – get quotes: Duct cleaning “specials” are often scams. At most a few ducts will get a superficial vacuum; and quite often they will try and talk you into a much more expensive package. High-quality duct and HVAC cleaning should take several hours with sophisticated equipment. All our prices are posted on our website – we believe in transparency – no gimmick upfront prices.
- Verify results: You should be offered a visual inspection of the HVAC system and ductwork, either in person or be provided with photos. Every single duct should be clean as well as the blower on the inside of the HVAC unit. If your ductwork has been done properly, you will have an access patch near the furnace and access holes in your ductwork. If you have had your ductwork cleaned previously and there are not patches, again chances are you did not receive a thorough service. We see this a lot!
Our technicians are knowledgeable and care about providing great customer service. They are always pleased to answer any questions or concerns you may have before they start the job.
